FL Studio Export Problem

  • When you export from fl studio and play it in Windows, it sounds terrible. While others try your sound and says: "But it sounds good for me?"
    Why? It's not you. It's not FL-Studio. It's Windows!
  • We're doing a expriment. We are going to record a piece of audio from FL Studio, and play the same .wav file in Windows and FL Studio. Try to export the worst sound you hear in the windows. (Drums sounds terrible sometimes.)
    • How to Export a piece of the project with Edison (Edison is a wav recorder in FL-Studio).

Open the mixer. Add a Edison effect on mixer nr 1.(On mixers right you see "effects" under the IN text, click on one of the arrow down and slelect > Edison)

      Select some channels
(Press the button on the pattern menu. I used "Mini Drum" and "Mini drum Light")
and set it to FX 1
(the small menu that is called Channel settings, see right ring on the image).
(This will make this channel go to Edison on mixer nr 1)
Record some. (use the round record button)
Save it. (use the diskette button)
Play it in windows media player. (Enjoy the terrible sound.)
Go back to FL-Studio and load the same saved wav in Edison. (Yes you can open wavs too)
Play it. (Enjoy the good sound of the same file.)
    • CONCLUSION: It is not your fault or the FL Studios fault. It is Windows. Try to play wav file on your mobile or on a desktop computer. Maybe you get lucky and get good sound out of it.
    • What you can do?
      1. Follow this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYBuqDOQpgs
        • Bottom line is to go into the control panel. At the sound and look after all these effects are added to the sound. Also in the media player's effects. Remove all these effects.
      2. If you have a Sony Vaio go into the control panel and "Vaio Control Center" and press the Sound Quality and select OFF.
    • Try it here: Download FL-Studio 11 FLP file (You must download the VSTs to make it work)
Or download this wav file and play it in windows then play it in FL-Studio: Download test wav
When they sound the same, you have successfully restore your sound system. :-)
